Calling all parents and guardians! Chi Rho Omega is looking for boys and girls ages 11-13 to participate in our Youth Leadership Institute (YLI). This program is youth-led and offers a great opportunity for young people to engage in interactive activities, build leadership skills, and the opportunity to serve our community. REMINDER: The September Third Thursday is at a new location, “Watts and Ward “, a charming basement cocktail bar with a vintage library vibe featuring plush tufted couches and a delightful selection of artisanal drinks (non-alcoholic options are also available). This event is open to the public. While Watts and Ward is conveniently situated near various food establishments, please note that they do not serve food.

Why Do Black Males Consider Suicide?

Join us on Thursday, September 21, 2023  at 7:00 p.m. for this hour-long seminar, “Why do Black Males Consider Suicide” with Dr. Sean Joe. Dr. Sean Joe is a social work scientist, highlights the emerging science on suicidal behavior among Black Americans, calling attention to important roles of sex and age that reflect not only differences in etiology, but also other important variations in relation to risk, the nature of suicidal behavior and its prevention and practice with Black boys and young men. Chi Rho Omega will begin our Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) Saturday, March 11, 2023, 10:00 am at the Zebulon Recreation Center. More details will be provided this week. African American Read-In


Chi Rho Omega is partnering with Marbles Kids Museum to host the African American Read-In, Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Marbles in Downtown Raleigh. Join us as we engage with history, reading, art, and fun!   Bring your family and celebrate Black creative thought during Black History Month!  The program is free, but registration is required. AKA Service Day – Supply Drive


This event is open to the public and will take place from 9:30 am – 11:00  am at the Zebulon Community Center: 301 S. Arendell Ave. Zebulon, NC 27597. This project seeks to benefit the Zebulon Magnet Middle School Mentoring Program which supports roughly 25 male and female students. Requested items for the donation drive include:

• School Supplies
• Hair Care Products
• Oral Hygiene Products
• Feminine Hygiene Products
• Soap/Deodorant/Lotion
• Hair Protective Accessories (i.e. bonnets, do-rags, wave caps)

AKA members interested in reactivating or transferring are welcome to participate in this service project. Spring College Expo


#CAP and Target 1: HBCU for life will host our Spring College Expo, Saturday,  March 5, 2022, from 1:00-3:00pm via Zoom. There will be college admissions representatives from HBCUs, public and private colleges and universities in North Carolina and beyond. This will be an opportunity for students to learn the difference between these institutions, and to have their college admissions questions answered live by admissions representatives. Pink Goes Red Virtual Line Dancing


Get your Heart Pumping and your Feet Stomping by joining the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Chi Rho Omega Chapter for our Pink Goes Red Virtual Line Dancing event Friday, February 4, 2022 from 7:00 pm – 8:15pm. Martin Luther King, Jr. International Day of Service Supply Drive – Canceled

Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by engaging in a day of service in our communities and around the world to promote peace and community through love in keeping with Dr. King’s life and teachings.

Through AKA Assist, Chi Rho Omega will support women and infants. Chi Rho Omega is partnering with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and the ACE Arts Conference Event Center in Knightdale to host a Supply Drive, January 22, 2022, 10:00 am -12:00 pm. Requested Items include: baby diapers and pull ups, baby wipes, soap, toothpaste, textured hair care products, deodorant, feminine products etc. Our goal is to collect 500 items. Please deliver your donation during our drive through event on Saturday, January 22nd.  Our Supply Drive is open to the public.

CRO Lucky 13 Virtual 5K Walk/Run


Put on your running shoes and register for the Lucky 13 Virtual Run/Walk, Saturday, November 13, 2021. Proceeds will benefit the Cultivating Resources and Opportunities Community Foundation.

The CRO Community Foundation awards scholarships annually to students residing in Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon.
